The Silver Bullet2652 viewsThis car was and still is the fastest street car every built. Forget Nissan Skylines, or Toyota Supras, this car was a street-legal 10-second performer. The only one ever built by Chrysler in the muscle car era, it was given to a street racer by the name of Jimmy Addison, a well known racer on the streets of old Detroit. Addison was famous for his custom-built '62 426 Max Wedge Savoy, and his success provoked the Chrysler corporation to build this monster for him to race, as a "running" advertisement for their line of street-built cars in the late 60's. This particular car was a 1967 Plymouth GTX that was originally fitted for a 440 cid "Super Commando", but really recieved a 426 cid Hemi plant that was bored out to over 470 cubic inches. It was designed to go straight in a quick hurry, and was forever known as the "Silver Bullet". So to all of you auto-ignorant rice-lovers, I say that the existence of this car and others like it prove that American Muscle Cars of the early sixties to mid-seventies win the debate of "fastest cars". Say what you will about tuners being light, nimble drifters, these pieces of sheet metal art were built to go fast and look good doing it.
