In spite of its comparatively long stroke, the engine has an 8200-rpm redline with a peak of 500 bhp DIN at 7800 rpm. A two-mode intake system and continuously variable timing of intake and exhaust camshafts ensure excellent flexibility, as testified by 376 lb.-ft. of torque at only 4500 rpm.
