Hey people, I'm getting into drift racing... While I know quite a bit about it compared to your average Joe(goddamn my luck the best drifter in the US will be nicknamed Average Joe), but I'd like to find a scene for it without going to Hawaii or Japan... I'm in Seattle... Even a good site on it, whatever... I'd just rather beat a 700hp car with a 180hp car than race the 700hp on a straight away... Call me crazy, but I'm into driving skill over mechanical skill laugh.gif

Also if anyone knows how drift and grip compare to eachother, that'd be kinda cool, I don't know which is really overall more efficient... *shrugs*

Here's a nice drifting video for those of you who have no clue what it is. Its pretty much a type of driving where instead of trying to get around the track in the least amount of time as possible, you do it by sliding around and collecting points for style.

I say drifting is an excuse for slow cars. Who cares how good you look, but how fast can you go and who can cross the finish line first which is "RACING". If your tires are sliding you are losing traction and when you are "racing" that is not a good thing.

I've always thought of drifting as an excuse for people who want to slide a car around but are too scared to drive fast enough to do it properly. In either case, there is some talent behind it, and for that reason I respect it. I'm really thinking of buying a 240 sx once I make some money just for drifting reasons.

I've always been about doing 180's and 360's (in snow) with my car, I get a certain sense of satisfaction throwing my car into a wild spin and recovering from it in full control.

Yeah thats coming from someone who knows NOTHING about a subject they are trying to down. I have seen guys from DRIFT X, and DRIFT KINGS doing drifts at around 80-100 MPH, until your happy ass is out there swinging around the ass end of your car at 80+ I dont think you have room to talk.

Also, cars like the SIGNAL S15 will walk all over your car in ANY Race

kinda like how you think you know what i know when in reality you dont. Sounds to me your bieng hypocritical. Any way I like dirt track racing and 75% of the time the cars are sideways and still manage to keep the car under control and still go about 150mph on a 1/2 mile oval.
