Figured I'd drop a thread here to introduce myself and see whatchall got happenin.

The sig describes the car. The pics tell the story.

From stock to typical bolt on stuff (high 13's):

To a custom M-112 Eaton install (high 12's):

To the current set up (mid 12's on VERY safe tune):

All in 16 months. It's my daily driver and business car. The car is driven >50K per year.

Just love the looks on the guys' faces when the race is over and they're pulling up to pay up. I hang in South GA and race everywhere from Englishtown, NJ to Byron, IL to Gainesville, FL.

Unless you copied the guy from the NAISSO forums, welcome. Nice car too, kinda unique I'd say, I would never think one of those would be quick.

From y'alls' posts, I'm assumin you have a lil problem with posers?

Well, as someone noted NAISSO, I'm a moderator for the NAISSO forum.
Owner of the DeepSouthSS Yahoo forum.
I'm Impala SS Club of America Regional Director for the state of FL.
Currently belong to 14 Impala clubs across the US.
Participate in the East Coast Impala (Drag) Racing Series.
IOW, I've got references. cool.gif

Yea, my baby runs a lil to the heavy side as far as weight is concerned but when you're putting 600 RWHP and close to 700 RWTQ down the smiles come often and easily with up to four adult passengers plus driver ridin in luxury. Custom Hotchkis suspension keeps everything in line for auto-x and road racing, too. Everything has been built gorilla and detuned to make a VERY reliable monster road warrior. That's just one of the few joys of owning this car is the surprise on folks faces after seeing me run. Just watch for the GM red grille insert with LED bow tie in your mirror and please keep to the right lane.

Oh, I also do pretty well at the car shows, too. 10.gif
Our club, DeepSouthSS is sponsoring this open car show in Sept for Car Craft Magazine. Bring your car, compete in the show, drag race all weekend.

The thing is the turbos do act a little similar to the blower. There is assistance under a certain RPM but not so much that someone riding in the car the first time would notice (except for the sound of turbos 15.gif ). In other words, I practically don't know it's there in slower driving situations. Haven't run an auto-x course since the turbos that had any decent long runs to let the turbos really spool up.

The weight is in the sig. Full 22 gallon tank of premium, myself (210#), a passenger (100#), full interior and some stuff in the trunk - 4,700 lbs. Was running an open exhaust and was seeing 10 PSI in the top RPM range. She runs 5 PSI with the closed 3" exhaust. We're running a VERY conservative shake down program. Pig rich and alot of timing to protect everything. Even with this I'm maxing out the F-body MAF at 5K rpm.

My biggest problem right now is coming up with a procedure that'll let me spool up at the line without overpowering the current brake setup and deep staging. The last few runs I made I was already spinning the tires waiting for the lights.

Keith Mease, owner of MPE Racing Fabrication in NJ, built my kit from scratch. He specializes in forced induction systems. His work is impeccable and of the highest quality. Even the stainless headers are a piece of art. We did the entire install from NA to running twins in about 60 hours over 4 days the week of the 4th. We are selling the Stage 1 kit for around $6K and he Stage II kit for around $8K depending on options. I guess you could call mine a Stage I-1/2 becuase of the hybrid turbos and the big intercooler.

The Eaton setup he built required a custom sheet metal intake to lower the highest point of the intake manifold about 1-1/2". This allowed the stock hood to close with no cutting. I believe Keith is selling these kits for around $4K without the blower. I got my used low mileage blower off of EBAY for around $800. I stripped the paint and polished that baby for around 24 hours!!! Whatabitch! Keith believes that this kit WILL fit an F-body without cutting firewall metal.

I don't have any pics handy of Keith's Turbozilla Trans Am. Sorry. But that one sure is good for some white knuckle ridin. biggrin.gif
